The need to feed, house, clothe and educate orphans in Africa is staggering. Right now, Orphaned Heart is focused on East Africa. OHI is committed to generating local economic opportunities that will provide for orphans, single mothers like Annette & their children, and widows. That is true empowerment and a core principle of the Orphaned Heart Life Center Initiative. This is why OHI is excited that proceeds from the new Spirit and Truth Recording Studio will provide annual care for 75 more orphans.

Introducing OHI Life Center Initiative

Our Vision for al OHI Life Centers is :
Give a better life to orphaned children and widows by providing food, clothing, education, shelter and medical supply.
Our Mission for all OHI Life Centers is:
To bring Biblical salvation, hope for a good future, and empowered living to orphaned children and poor widows in Uganda.
SMART Goals for 2025:
1. Purchase property and build an adequate living compound to house 60 children compliant with Ugandan government standards.
2. Provide school tuition for all children in our care
3. Provide a healthy daily diet of nutritious meals to all children in our care
4.Provide a healthy living environment to ensure positive personal growth and well-being through well planned social activities, exercise, and study time.
5. Provide opportunity for sound Biblical teaching and examples of living a Christian life by all adults in supervisory and caretaking roles at our Life Center
6. Provide annual medical check-ups and treatment as necessary for the physical body of every child in our care
7. Provide every child in our care to learn a skill set that will result in employment earning an above average wage

OHI seeks to “Give A Better Life” to the 120 Children at the two orphan care facilities in Uganda through instilling a positive mindset as children of God the Father, compassionate nurturing, and self-sustainability. More Life Centers to open in 2026 and 2027.

Administration:

Richard Musana Orphaned Heart International Empowerment Director in Uganda, has recently been hired as an official Ugandan Government Regional Officer. His “boots on the ground” at the Orphaned Heart Empowerment Center in Jinja provides consistent monitoring and accountability keeping Ugandan governmental standards at all OHI Life Centers. Currently, 37 widows and orphans are under his care at OHEC but will more than double to at 80 once the House of Mercy building (H.O.M.E.) is completed. About $3,000 USD is needed to complete the installation of security doors, windows and a Star Link Internet system.

Dr. Josephine Mirembe - has opened her home to 18 orphans and has secured housing for several widows in Kampala.

BREAKING NEWS: Paying For Education In Uganda

Imagine ZERO Government Subsidies for Education. In Uganda. Families Pay 100% of tuition costs. If tuition is not paid in advance then the child is sent home until the bill is paid in full. Delays put the child behind in their learning. These orphans need your help in order to stay in school. $40 a month will pay for tuition, uniforms, transportation and school supplies for one child.

Urgent Short Term Needs for House of Mercy = $13,000!

Final Renovation to the Compound $3,000,
Bunk Beds, Bedding, $5,000,
School Tuition for September $3,000,
School Uniforms $1000,
School Supplies $1000

Operating an Orphan Care Facility of this size costs $1,000 a week minimum. The on-going need is for $52,000 per year. In 2026 our main goal is to purchase more land and create a multi-purpose room with modern kitchen.

Also, construct a football (soccer) field and playground.

These children are smiling because they have been sponsored by individuals for uniforms, book bag, school supplies and school tuition for this upcoming trimester. My goal is that each child has a sponsor. The cost per child is $120.
